A trifold brochure created for Wasted Squirrel, a startup focused on curated brewery tours, designed to drive early traction and attract participants.
With limited budget and no fully developed brand identity, the project leveraged the visual language of partner breweries as a foundation. The design focused on capturing attention and communicating the experience itself using familiar aesthetics, clear messaging, and a playful tone to encourage sign-ups and build initial momentum for the business.
Early-stage projects often demand more than design, they require direction.
With limited budget and no established brand identity, my role expanded into what I would define as strategic design. Beyond creating visuals, I worked closely with the founders to shape how the business would present itself, prioritizing what mattered most at that stage: attracting customers, validating the concept, and generating momentum.
Instead of focusing on building a full brand from the ground up, we aligned on a more pragmatic approach—leveraging existing touchpoints and crafting materials that could immediately support the business goals.
The brochure was designed using the visual language of one of their key partners, Steam Whistle Brewery. By incorporating familiar elements such as typography, color palette, and imagery, the piece felt instantly recognizable and trustworthy to the target audience.
At the same time, it was essential to ensure that Wasted Squirrel’s message remained clear and distinct. Through careful content structuring, copywriting support, and a well-defined information hierarchy, the brochure balanced both identities—respecting the partner’s brand while effectively communicating the value of the experience being offered.
The result was a compelling and practical piece designed to convert interest into action, supporting the business at a stage where every interaction mattered.
